and mostly in the U.S.Their are over 30 species and subspecies of

Horned lizards protect themselves from predators using a
variety of tactics. One way is to camouflage itself using the their
surroundings. Horned lizards will stay still if an enemy is near to
avoid being seen If a predator comes too close, the Horned lizard will
run slowly and steadily and then stop and keep on running to confuse
its predator. The horned lizard can also squirt blood form it's eye

Horned lizards have a small variety of things to eat.
They mostly feed on harvester ants and cockroaches. These are mostly
what Horned lizards eat because of this being its natural diet and
since it has been roaming in the wild. If someone had to have a horned
lizard, it would be difficult to force it to eat some other insect.

Almost all species of Horned lizards are endangered because
of people destroying their homes and using pesticide around the
lizard’s environment. Horned Lizards are also endangered because of a
short supply of food. These pesticides also kill the diet of the
Horned lizard which makes them starve. Many people also take them as
pets which is illegal to do and don't give them the proper food to eat.
If I were to give this animal a human characteristic, I would
make it a very cautious animal because the Horned lizard itself is
very careful when their is a predator nearby. I would make it a
cautious animal because I like people who are aware of their
surroundings. With this character trait, the Horned Lizard can be safe and more happy.
