Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is a mid-engined high-performance luxury car. It is the most expensive car in the world at USD $3,000,000. Because of this high cost only rich racers, or car collectors buy this car. It is also the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of 431.07 km/h (267.85 mph). The car is designed by the German Volkswagen Group and manufactured by the French Bugatti Automobiles. The car is made at their headquarters in Château St.Jean in France. The car is named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for Bugatti. This car was first publicly shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August 2010.
Volkswagen spent a lot of time, money and effort creating the 408 km/h (254 mph). Bugatti Veyron in 2005, which became the fastest, and the most expensive car ever built. Then SSC Ultimate Aero TT set a new world record of 412.28 km/h (256.18 mph) in 2007. Bugatti's new Veyron Super Sport changed the record to 431 km/h (267.81 mph) in 2010.
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport offers a sportier and more extreme driving experience, than the original Bugatti Veyron. The car offers a high performance of 882 kW (1200 hp), and with a maximum torque of 1500 Nm. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has a 16-cylinder engine, and the chassis have been improved for safety at high speeds. The body has been improved for aerodynamic efficiency and perfect balance. The skin is made of carbon-fibre composites, and it is also available in 100% clear-lacquered exposed carbon on request. The back has been revised to give a sportier look because of the double diffuser and the exhaust system.
The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport was shown and deiven on the BBC car show Top Gear. Veyron received a lot of praise from James Clarkson, and James May. Veyron raced with the Cessna 182 aeroplane and the the McLaren F1, winning the race both times. The Super Sport achieved the fastest ever time for a lap on Top Gear's track. Bugatti Veyron also won the award for the Car of the Decade in Top Gear's end of 2010 award show.
Bugatti's official test driver Pierre Henri Raphanel drove the car on Volkswagen's Ehra-Lessien track to get the car's top speed. Representatives of the Guinness Book of Records and German Technical Inspection Agency were there when Raphanel achieved an average maximum speed of 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph). There will be only 30 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport produced. The first five Super Sports will be black and orange, which was used to set the speed record, with a top speed of 431.07 km/h (267.85 mph). All other models will be electronically limited to 415 km/h (258 mph) to protect the tires.
I personally like this car because it is the fastest car and it looks really good. Though this car is really expensive, I think it is worth buying.
