---{Rainbow Light Painting Effect}---

Step I

To begin, you must first create or open an image. The image must be desaturated. Desaturation can be done manually through the menu, if it is not already present in the image.

Step II

Secondly, you must make a layer full of colour (this will be the rainbow in your image). This can be done quickly by opening your Swatches through the menu labelled Window at the top. To make the rainbow appear more smooth later on, it is recommended to use the eraser tool at a lower opacity to make it look more transparent.

Next, after you finish making your coloured layer, you will noice that on the left of the Layer Opacity drop box, there is another dropbox that says Normal. You MUST change this dropbox to COLOR, as it will not work, if this is not done.

Step IV

After you have completed all the steps above, you can now turn both layers on, making sure that your coloured layer is ABOVE your image. This will result in a beautiful rainbow lighting effect, as shown below.
