The capital of South Korea is Seoul, which is also its largest city in size, in comparison to the rest. Seoul reaches an astounding population of 10,421,782. After South Korea was invaded by North Korean forces on June 25th, 1950, the war between the two Koreas ended with an Armistice Agreement, although the border connecting the two nations is the most heavily fortified in the world. After liberation and occupation by Soviet and U.S. military at the end of World War II, the country was divided into two halves; Northern and Southern Korea. Following the war, the South Korean economy grew considerably, and the country had transformed into a regional power, a fully democracy and major economy in East Asia. South Korea consists of 16 administrative divisions; they have also developed a very high standard of living, compared to North Korea, and many other surrounding countries. In Asia, South Korea has the 4th largest economy, although compared to the rest of the world, it has either the 12th, or 15th largest. Exporting a lot of goods based on the production of robotics, machinery, automobiles, electronics and petrochemicals is what makes the Korean economy so successful.
